We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Public Affairs for the India region, who will drive Corporate and public affair projects to ensure a regulatory and policy-compliant environment that supports and protects our business interests in the region. Additionally, manage relations with the Government associations and state chapters – CII and IAMAI
Main responsibilities:
• Engage and liaison with Industry body like CII, IAMAI, etc. on a regular basis to maintain strong industry leadership presence.
• Monitor industry and government/policy-related developments consistently, proactively prepare action plans and/or share recommendations towards upholding and maintaining brand reputation.
• Represent OnePlus at key stakeholder events and conduct activities on behalf of the organisation that strengthen OnePlus’ India focus.
• Ensure OnePlus is regarded as a key stakeholder in government initiatives such as Make in India, 5G, Digital India, Gaming among others by identifying and driving strategic engagement opportunities as part of the brand’s robust government relations efforts.
• Build and maintain positive engagement with key government stakeholders including relevant ministries/depts such as MeitY, NITI Aayog, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and other relevant departments (as and when required).
• Facilitate arrangement of meetings for OnePlus leadership team with key government stakeholders and industry body representatives to foster and maintain positive dialogue (as and when required)
• Support internal activities- closely work with Corp Comms, legal and regulatory teams for effective communication to government and other stakeholders.
What do we expect from you?
• 3-4 years of work experience in a Public Affairs firm or PA function in a corporate, preferably in the Electronics Industry
• Exceptionally good in English and Hindi communication [Written and Oral], Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
• Strong understanding of policy framework and ability to effectively analyse policy developments across Govt and industry functions.
• Crisis communication experience with the ability to foresee negative impact due to external factors
• Good in drafting reports, letters, background papers, government policies
• Strong ability to build and maintain positive relations with senior officials in government, and senior management in industry
